Fiendish Fancies Broken Mirror, Broken Minds September Polish Pickup

Press Sample

I have to admit, all these horror-inspired Polish Pickups, and I have no clue about them! I think it's cool because horror movies are a genre that has tons of independent makers. I have to say I only know the super popular ones. But Fiendish Fancies entire brand is based off of the horror genre, so I bet she loved this theme!

Broken Mirror, Broken Minds: 2 coats plus top coat. This polish dries a bit velvety so top coat lets it shine. This was inspired by Suspiria. Again, I don't know this film, but the brand sent me the image that this color was inspired by and there's no doubt very clear inspiration! This color was inspired by the iris that reveals the secret of the coven (hmmm sounds interesting!).

So naturally, this is a cool iris blue color with a slight shift to a purple. There's flakes of yellow, gold, and blue in it for extra dimensional. I do love the blue shimmery base and then flakes just add a subtle pop.

I just wanted to show this polish off in low lighting so you can see what I mean about how it glows. You can see the hints of purple. It's super glowy.

I wanted to show this in the shade, since it does have a duochrome effect, even if it isn't in your face obvious. It just lends itself to glow. You can see the flakes as well in the shade.

And matte. It's velvety and gorgeous. Please ignore the little bits. My matte top coat died and I promptly threw it out after this swatch, but I wanted you to see the glow with the matte top coat.  This polish lays completely smooth.

Outside in the shade, the matte shows off the little bit of duochrome.

  4. Suspiria is a Dario Argento film from the 70's and one I just love! It's being remade and should be out soon, and I'm kinda anxious about it. I know Argento is involved with it although not directing so crossing my fingers it is still good! And this is a great polish!!
