Neon Geometric Nail Art with Morgan Taylor Make a Splash

Press Sample

Hi all! I really needed that weekend off! Here's the art I promised! I currently have six summer collections waiting to be swatched and shared with you! I knew I wouldn't have time due to my semester ending, but I did these nails on Monday, May 7th and literally JUST took them off! Yessss to a week wear time! And the only reason I took them off was because I wanted to chop off my nails and I need to swatch! Yup, these long pretties are gone!

When the Make a Splash collection landed, I actually posted a preview on Instagram along with the adorable unicorn and rainbow drink floaties! I knew I didn't haven't time to swatch, but I did have 35-40 mins to do one fabulous nail art, knowing I wouldn't have any time to change my mani.

The Make a Splash collection consists of 4 neon cremes, 2 neon shimmers, and one  shimmer top coat. The shimmer top coat is actually gorgeous as a nice sparkle, if you only wanted a little oomph on your nail.

I began with a base of two coats of the shimmer top coat, Cellophane  Coat. I'll definitely be sharing this on its own for swatches because it's sparkles so much!

Then I used the remaining 6 colors and painted random boxes of colors! It was entirely random, with boxes overlapping. My last step was to outline the boxes in a black creme. The black creme really tied the look together! I loooove to do nail art with neons. I have a feeling I'll be doing quite a few looks with this collection!

And if you didn't believe me, here were my nails on the left before I took them off today. They survived baking, grading, a dip powder mani, cleaning, and so so much! Then on my right are my current nails. I had a HUGE and I mean huge and bloody deep break on my right hand while cleaning, and decided to shorten all my nails while that one heals.

The Make a Splash collection is available now, for $9 each. I really love how this collection works together for art, and I'll definitely be back with swatches soon! I just love the wear time for neons! One work with no chips!

    1. About 40 minutes for all ten nails! That’s why I put in my post I had time for a fabulous art but not a full swatch session!

  3. So fun and bright! I love that it makes me want to put my hair in a side pony tail and go play on my pogo ball (do you remember those?).

  4. I’m so ready for summer right now lol! Can’t wait to see the shorter nails! I wish I could grow mine like this, but I’ve made peace with my perma-nubs lol

    1. It was fun to do. Just random boxes! It would have taken less time if I had shorter nails to start!
