KBShimmer Launch Party Collection, Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Get ready for a long post! It's currently snowing right now, and it will probably be the last snow of the season. So I'm snuggling in and typing up this huge post for you. KBShimmer recently shared that they updated their look! With the re-brand comes the Launch Party collection, a set of 8 multichrome magnetic polishes and a holographic top coat. Ok, grab your coffee and let's get to it!

First, I wanted to share that there will be a bundle available with a new multichrome bag! KBShimmer has previously released a holographic bag (which I still have and use!). For a limited time, you can get all 9 polishes, a magnet, and this bag for only $90.00.

Here's the magnet. It has a long stem so you can control it. I personally popped it out to get the look I wanted.

Jen at My Nail Polish Obsession told me she popped out the magnet and held it this way over the magnet. Thanks for the advice, Jen! This is how I did my swatches.

**For the sake of not having to repeat myself, each polish contains 6 photos. The first two are indoors, under lighting. The next two are outside in shade. The last two are with the holographic top coat A Star is Formed.

My method was to paint one coat on all my nails. Then on the second coat, I did one nail at a time, and place the magnet over my nail. It's important you do one nail at a time, since the polish needs to be wet to attract the magnet.

Just a Phase: 2 coats. This one is a pink-based multichrome, that shifts to green and gold. All of these polishes are much shiftier in person, and it's so hard to narrow down photos. I took over 400 of this collection!

So for each polish, I added a coat of A Star is Formed. This makes an instant galaxy mani!

Solar Flare: 2 coats. This is easily my favorite! It's orange based and shifts to red and gold. I feel like I don't see this color enough in multichromes. I love this one!

Thrust Issues: 2 coats. This is a golden based polish, with green shifts and red/orange at extreme angles. Remember, the effects are so much more present in person. I simply couldn't put 1000 pictures in a post!

Let's Do Launch: 2 coats. This is my second favorite of the collection! It shifts pink to green and is so visible. I just dig this color.

You Rocket My World: 2 coats. The is a green based multichrome that shifts to a light purple. One thing I learned is that you really want the magnet centered. If you do it too close to the cuticle line, the shift isn't as prominent, which makes sense. Forgive me, I haven't used magnetic polishes since they were all the rage in like 2009.

No Comet: 3 coats. This one is a vibrant rich blue that shifts slightly to purple. This one is such a galaxy mani base. Check it out with the holo!

Spaced Out: 3 coats. My other favorites! This one looks teal and then as you move, oh hi green, hi pink, hi purple. I loved this one. I can't wait to put it back on!

As I said above, for a limited time you can get the entire collection, with bag and magnet, for $90. Otherwise, each polish is $10. The magnet will retail for $3. The entire collection is 5-free and will be available 3/15/18. My favorites are Solar Flare, Let's Do Launch, and Spaced Out. Let me know your favorites in the comments!
