Hello all! I took a cue from my first post of 2016, and decided I wanted to do similar nails! I reversed the color of my base because the moment I swatched KBShimmer Whiskey Business, I knew it had to be my New Year's Eve manicure. It's just the perfect gold polish.
I wanted to go simple for a few reasons:
1. I knew today would be bountiful sunshine! I love, whenever possible, to give you sun shots of gorgeous holos and shimmers in addition to shade and artificial lighting. It's so crucial when you have a complex polish to see it in as many lightings as possible. I hope you like it too! I knew I had a few that were waiting on sunshine.
2. I hate taking off complex nail art just after a day. I'm convinced one of the reasons I'm not a huge blogger is because I can't take off complex art 10 minutes after doing them and churn out one a day. It's why I never participate in the 31 day challenge. Let me wear my art for 2-3 days!
3. I always find my simple art looks better...which then I feel bad taking off! But at least I know it's easy to recreate!

This look was fairly simple! I used two coats of KBShimmer Whiskey Business as my base. Then I outline 2017, with one number on each of my nails, using Paint Box Polish Axe Fight. I did one coat of the numbers. Then I went back in and did another coat of Axe Fight, one number at a time, and with a dotting tool, added little gold glitters. Topped it all with Girly Bits Glitter Glaze! Done and done!

Direct sunlight. Look at how fun the glitters are. They aren't holo, but they are super sparkly!

Great mani! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Happy new year!
DeleteOooh yes, that is certainly the perfect gold base! I'm yellow-toned and can't pull off golds, but this one is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm also yellow toned and it seems to work for me! I love it.
DeleteThat base was the perfect choice and I love this. The addition of the glitter in the numbers is that perfect something extra!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Without the glitter placement, the nail art appeared flat. Yes for bling!
DeleteYour mani is so creative, sparkly and fun. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSparkly is a must for NYE!
DeleteWow - you draw perfect numbers! I'm impress, I thought they were stencils of some kind. I wish you a wonderful New Year!
ReplyDeleteHahah thanks! Just freehanded the numbers! I outlined them and then filled them in!
DeleteI love how great you did this nail art. I can't imagine removing it too quickly. Your skills are terrific.
ReplyDeleteI was sad to remove but until next year, when I do it again! :)
DeleteIs that hand-placed glitter? That's awesome! I have a lot of patience for nail art but not for placing glitter.
ReplyDeleteYep, hand placed! It actually goes by really quickly! I might try doing an entire nail for 2017, but the numbers are pretty easy!
DeleteLove how the sequins match the base shade. Looks very NYE! <3
ReplyDeleteThey did match perfectly! And it's the only gold glitter I had!
DeleteThat mani is perfect! Happy 2017!
ReplyDeleteThanks girl! Happy 2017 to you!!
DeleteSo pretty, love it! Also, I don't think I've told you before...but I love the name of your blog. So cute and different :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks!! It's actually because everyone calls me MK! But MK is already trademarked so I spelled it out :)
DeleteYour glitter placement is superb! I can understand why you can't stand to take off your nail art right away - it is amazing.
ReplyDeleteAw thanks! I'm not as intricate as other nail artists but I still love wearing it
DeleteGorgeous mani hun happy new year.x
