Neon Gradient and Stamping with China Glaze Electric Nights

Press Sample

Monday was the first day of classes! I always try to have a seamless first day but it was super hot and turns out the bookstore didn't get my books in yet and didn't tell me until AFTER class. So of course, I had panicked students because they couldn't get the book in time for their first reading. It's always something! But it's no one's fault. I decided to do some fun back to school nails and I had this awesome set of China Glaze neons with nail art studs whispering at me, so I obliged.

As I showed you during my Cosmoprof recaps, China Glaze has been releasing nail art sets with a few colors and either decals, stripers, or in this case, studs. I began with two coats of a white creme as my base for the gradient. Before I did my gradient, I put on a layer of Glisten & Glisten Ctrl Alt Del (separate review coming soon). Then using three colors from the Summer 2015 Neon Collection: Daisy Know My Name (yellow), Red-y to Rave (red), and Violet Vibes (purple), I did a gradient on all my nails. The purple is much lighter over white than in the bottle and it was a seamless gradient. I LOVE the gradient!

But I couldn't stop there! With Born Pretty plate 21, I stamped a fun circular design. I'm not perfect, but I've been playing with stamping a lot lately. Lastly, I used the studs to fill in some of the circles. These studs have a rounded bottom vs a flat. Because of that, the longevity of the studs aren't as long, but it's great for a 24 hour look. Either that or you want to use a strong nail glue to stick them on vs. top coat like I use. I topped the whole look with one coat of top coat.

I love playing with multiple mediums! Gradient, stamping, studs. That's a win for me. The China Glaze Electric Nights Collection is still available at stores like Sally Beauty and Ulta. Check out the WHERE TO BUY tab on their Website to find stores near you.  It was definitely one of my favorite collections of the summer as I purchased many from the collection on my own. China Glaze does neons so well! Head to their Facebook page for the latest news.
