Zoya Island Fun Collection Swatches and Comparisons

Press Sample

Ready for some delicious cremes? Today I have swatches of the new for summer 2015 Zoya Island Fun Collection. I already used these cremes in my doodle art HERE so here are the promised swatches! These cremes were all two coats and NO top coat because they dry super shiny. Let's see what Zoya has in store for this summer! And make sure you get to the bottom of the post where I compare this with other Zoya colors (you might be surprised!)

Zoya Island Fun Collection Swatches and Comparisons

Zoya Demetria: 2 coats. This is described as a poppy red and I have to agree! It is very red on me but it leans a bit orange (but you'll see below how it looks almost exact to another Zoya color). The formula was buttery and beautiful.

Zoya Jace: 2 coats. This is a tropical green that is supposed to be more wearable but it pulls very yellow-green on me and kind of reminds me of pea soup. Another lovely formula.

Zoya Serenity: 2 coats. This is definitely the summer purple Zoya calls it. It's bright but not neon and I love it. It's a bit blue-toned and I really love this one. In fact, I think I need to put it on my toes NOW!

Zoya Cecilia: 2 coats. This is my absolute favorite of this collection.  It is the perfect teal and it's perfectly balanced between blue and green. Wonderful formula. It's bright and creamy. Love!

Zoya Nana: 2 coats. A berry creme that reminds me of bright raspberries. Surprisingly, I have nothing like this so it is a welcome addition in my collection. Again, great formula.

Zoya Talia: 2 coats. Turquoise is always difficult to photograph. I love this color 1) because it's gorgeous 2) because it's my cousin's name! But let's real talk: this is a STAINER. I would double your base coat and be extremely careful while removing. I had stains with one coat of base coat and was only wear this about 10 minutes. Cuticle remover did remove all my stains, but every nail is different and you might need more for your nails.

Talia actually matches my nail place mat, and it's a better representation of this color that is so difficult to photograph!

It's COMPARISON time! I like to do these because I know that with such a large company like Zoya, we sometimes wonder if colors are similar. While I do not own every Zoya, I have enough to show you some that you might think are similar. If you EVER have requests, please comment here!

Zoya Talia, Zoya Cecilia, Zoya Robyn. No dupes! Robyn is way lighter than Talia although they look similar in the bottle. All are needed!

Zoya Demetria and Zoya Sookie. Holy cow! Can you find Sookie?! In both pictures, look extremely close at the ring finger where you can see that Sookie is ever so slightly more red. Very, very close. If you're a red lover, you can't go wrong with either!

Zoya Jace and Zoya Josie: Another "looks similar in the bottle" but so different on the nail. Josie is much brighter and works more with my skin tone. I think this clearly shows the pea soup color.

Zoya Nana and Zoya Lara: Lara is much more bubblegum pink and Nana is berry. Clearly very different. Love both.

Zoya Serenity and Zoya Mira (ring finger): Another close competition. Mira is ever so slightly darker so it's not as summery. I love both and I feel you need both!

My favorites are Cecilia and Serenity. I love Talia too, but with the stains, I only see myself using it for nail art.

  1. Nana is my favorite - they all are pretty, but as such nothing new under the sun...

    2. Nothing too new but all have great formulas. I do love Cecilia though. I really have nothing like it. Thank you!
