Oh hello there. Have you been holed up watching the Every Simpsons Ever marathon that has been going on for 12 straight days (552 episodes!) and ends tonight? While I obviously haven't watched them all, when the television has been on, it's been The Simpsons. I figured I couldn't let such an epic marathon end without a nail art tribute.

I actually hurt my right hand thumb, so doing this art was a lot more difficult than I thought. Since The Simpsons is a cartoon, black outlining was a must, and it was a struggle having my thumb all bandaged up. But, I must say, my characters are recognizable!

I started with a base of three coats of OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana. I used all nail polish for the art and no acrylic paints. I like to test myself by keeping my art in one medium. Yes nail polish dries faster than paint but the challenge is better. To get Marge's hair, I mixed Nails Inc. Baker Street with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Wall.

I did the Simpsons family from thumb to pinky: Homer, Lisa, Marge, Bart, and little Maggie.

I'm really happy with how these turned out! And if you're curious, to get the large white dots for eyeballs, I used a pencil eraser! Enjoy the rest of the marathon!
