Northern Lights Nail Art

Today I have a super special nail art that I loved so much. With every angle I moved my nails, I could see different flashes of colors and new shapes. I know everyone has seen those amazing pictures of Aurora Borealis and the Northern Lights. I can't imagine what it would actually look like in person. The scene in Happy Feet when they "graduate" as penguins always warms my heart.

Anywho, there was no rhyme or reason to how I actually approached this mani. I took out a bunch of nail polishes that inspired this art. I lusted over piCture pOlish mask-a-rade for so long, and once I got it, I was blown away. It reminded of the colorful stars and I knew this would be my base for Northern Lights nail art.

I started with a base of two coats Orly High on Hope, which is a deep blue with gorgeous pink and orange shimmer. It was the perfect base for the night sky--as I thought the sky would never look black with such colorful stars. Then I added one coat of piCture pOlish Mask-a-rade. Using Milani Key West, Zoya Elodie, and Orly Melodious Utopia, I sponged on random designs. Then randomly added Finger Pints Motley and China Glaze Make A Spectacle. Then even more mask-a-rade. In person, the colors were intense and so beautiful. I can't even try to narrow these pictures, so here's a ton. In some pictures, my skin looks a little red, but the lighting showed off the polish (and that's what is important).
