Summer Neon Dotticure

On the East Coast, we are going through a massive heat wave. The humidity is just so out of control here. So the heat puts me in the mood for neons. For this manicure, I used two coats of Spoiled I'm so Jaded, which completely helps me lessen my need for China Glaze Limonyte. Then I used an accent of China Glaze Surfin for Boys, which is from the new Summer Neons collection. I did the opposite on the other hand (with I'm So Jaded as an accent). The accent was just too stark for me, so I added diagonal dots in the opposing color. I topped it all off with a coat of IMN Northern Lights. I absolutely loved this manicure. 

While this picture does not show the shimmer in the neons, 

it does show the glitter from IMN.

Dollish Polish Putting on the Ritzzz!

Back in February, I sought to get the infamous Dollish Polish polish, Toxic Avenger. Of course, I had no idea how fast they would sell out, and overslept the 8am opening. But all was okay, because instead, I bought this beauty! Although I was on a waiting list for another infamous black and white glitter, I loved the look of this polish.

Who says glitter has to be layered over a creme? I used one coat of Dollish Polish POTR over two coats of Zoya Luna, a greyed out silver glitter polish. Although I wore this manicure a while ago, my mom just requested I do this one on her. Loved this combo all around. It's tame, yet still sparkly.

Don't you love when your manicure matches your purse, unknowingly, of course.

Celebrate the Fourth with Fireworks on your Nails!

I am very excited to show you this manicure today. Not only because I think it is cool, but because I get to celebrate this mani day with many of my blogger friends. I always did the mani on the special day, but because I didn't have a blog, I didn't get to link with them! Well, now I do! I hope you check out their AWESOME manicures to celebrate America's birthday!

On to the polish. Fourth of July is always fun because I am from the NYC area and always get a prime view of the Macy's Fourth of July fireworks display. Because of those memories, I decided to try another fireworks manicure (I did one for NYE this past year). I started with a base of 2 coats of China Glaze Frostbite, an amazing vivid blue that Mr. ehmkay picked out during one of the buy 2, get one free sales at Sally's. He always has the best taste!  Then I topped it with one coat of Orly Shining Star. Then I whipped out my dotting tools and stripers and went to town. I googled images of fireworks, picked my 5 favorite and began to paint fireworks loosely inspired by the photographs. Fireworks are naturally chaotic looking so I just added dots wherever I felt like it. I topped my nails with one coat of NYC Grand Central Station. There are a lot of pictures in various lighting and angles so enjoy!

KB Shimmer All American for the 4th!

Today's post features a red, white, and blue manicure that I had done for Memorial Day, but it equally fits for 4th of July (although I have another one planned). I started with 3-4 coats of KB Shimmer All American. The next time I wear this I will definitely be layering it over one coat of Zoya Robyn. The polish is so jam packed with glitter, that my nails were rather thick after three coats. If you have short nails, you could probably get away with less coats. All American has tons of bar glitter, white and navy blue hexes, holographic stars, red square glitter, among others. Because there is so much glitter, this did require way too many coats of top coat. Remember to layer this one!

Because I wasn't happy with my nail line showing, I grabbed a red glitter from Rite Aid, one of those cute ones in the snowman bottles during the holidays and simply dabbed it on the tips. 

The next morning, I decided I wanted more red, so I added more red glitter to the tips.

 It was so festive!
