Fishtail and Textured Skitlette Manicure

Again, another skitlette and one from the vault! I love these manis. And I loved this one so much, I wore it for 5 days!! So even though it's from months ago, I couldn't NOT show it.

I caved and bought all three Illamasqua Paranormal polishes, not because I have a UV light (which I now need haha) but because they are GORGEOUS with great formulas!

Using two Julie G Gumdrop polishes, I painted Crushed Candy (purple) on my thumb and pinky and Rock Candy (green) on my index. Using Illamasqua Seance, Zoya Trixie, and Essie Mint Candy Apple (2013 edition...there seems to be two versions of this color), I did a fishtail mani. I followed the tutorial from Lucy's Stash. It took a while, but oh my, it is beautiful. I decided Mint Candy Apple didn't work with the textures, so I added Orly Sparkling Garbage over it. PERFECT.

Autumn Skitlette

Here's a fun little skitlette I did.  Basically, I'm teaching so much, art has taken a back seat, and all I have time for are these type of skitlette color combos.

For three of my nails, I started with two coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge Turn Around--an olive green polish with copper shimmer. It is soooo beautiful but I had really terrible tip wear within a day, sigh. Then on my pinky and thumbs, I used two coats of Cirque French Roast over one coat of Zoya Cheryl.

For my middle nails, I did a gradient of Cirque French Roast and then used Hit Polish Autumn Harvest over that. Short and simple.

Deborah Lippman Mermaid Skittles Mani

While at the mall, I did a pit stop at Nordstrom and low and behold, I had naked nails! I decided to test out the Deborah Lippman Mermaid polishes since three of the new ones were on my wishlist. I actually ended up talking to the employee over polish and did a quick mani. I loved it so much I kept it on for like four days. After walking through the mall, I settled on buying Mermaid's Kiss, the pink one, but will go back for the purple once my Nordstrom Note comes in (like a gift certificate).

Two coats of each polish. Thumb to Pinky: Mermaid's Eyes, Do the Mermaid, Million Dollar Mermaid, Mermaid's Kiss, and Mermaid Dreams.

Acorn Nail Art with Autumn Dotticure

How freaking cute is this one? And so simple!

I started with a base of A England Princess Sabra (Tristam's Eyes). For the dots, I used A England Dragon (green), Avon Starburst (orange), and OPI DS Desire (brown). It was holo goodness. I used dotting tools and an unused pencil eraser for the huge dots.

Then on my index and thumb, I painted simple acorns. How cute is this? I just can't! And this is so relevant because the squirrels won't stop throwing acorns on my roof. It kind of scares the crap out of me sometimes.

Bottle Spam: A Rainbow of Textures

SOOO I'm finally done with my crazy deadlines, then I get the stomach flu LOL, but I *think* I'm almost better now. Here's something different from me. Let me know if you enjoy this post and I'll do more!

I didn't realize how much I love texture polish until I took them all out. I began duping myself so I took them all out so I could see what I have...boy do I have a lot (but still need a few more). Please enlarge these pictures to see the flakies/glitters within the textures.

What's sad is that I may or may not have a few more on the way to me 0__O. I'm also planning on grabbing the new JulieG holiday textures. I don't think this is a fad like shatter or magnetic (which I did not like) and the fact that they are gorgeous top-coated is nice. As you can see I am a fan of the sparkly textures and not the creme-based ones.

Halloween Bears and Wrap Up!

So sorry for the random blogging break. It really wasn't so much of a break though. If any of you out there are teachers or professors (like me!), you know that some weeks, you spend every waking minute grading and commenting on essays. And any free time is devoted to creatingnyour lesson plans, being in your office, answering e-mails, etc. So basically, that has been me for 10 days straight. And it will continue. BUT I do have a bit more time this round of essays, so I can pop up as I have tons of spam posts with older manicures/art that I haven't shown. Lately I have been only doing my nails twice a week with a plain color (shock!) but I'll still show you!

Onward, sorry for all the chatter. I wanted to show you what I wore for my actual Halloween mani because it was so cute and I think I need to do it for every holidays. It was really quick nail art and totally cute.

I started with alternating bases of China Glaze Riveting and China Glaze Haunting on my middle and index, so perfect. On the other three nails, I did an orange and black texture gradient with JulieG Sugar Rush and Forever 21 Purple/Black. It's a black texture with purple glitter, but it's pretty dark on the nail. Then I drew the simplest bears with a witch hat and a pumpkin on their heads. I used two bat nail art decals to complete the look. So cute, right? I definitely plan a winter holiday bear and a Valentine's Day bear! Bear up all the holidays!

I've also attached a collage of most of my Halloween manis! I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did. You can look through October to see all of them in detail. I'm missing a few only because there wasn't enough room in the collage. I really love Halloween and my nails definitely showed it!
