Born Pretty Stamping Stencils

Press Sample

Today I have an interesting product.  Stamping Stencils! This is a first for me, and granted, it takes some practice, but I wanted to share my experience with it!

Born Pretty Stamping Stencils

There are a few different patterns, which you can see HERE. I'm using stencil #2. There are 15 images on the stencil.

You take any plate, put down your stamping polish and scrape. Then you put the stencil over it and pick up the image.  You want to work quickly as you don't want the stamping polish to dry.

Easier said than done. Unfortunately, it's really hard to pick up the image. I had to push the stencil down so it was as flush as it could be. The squishiest stamper still struggled with a clean pickup. Here's my first try using the diamond image. You can see it's not a clear image but this was actually my best attempt.

Here's the other attempt. Since the clear stampers weren't working, I used a marshmallow stamper, so placement was way off. Guys, I really tried!

I think this is a super cool concept, and maybe with practice, it might be easier to use. But the stencil thickness makes it difficult to get the image. Have you tried this product? Any advice?!

The stamping guide retails for $3.99 and can be found HERE. I like the idea of this but the execution just didn't pan out. You can find other stamping plates and nail art tools HERE.

If you want to place an order at Born Pretty, you can get 10% off your order with the discount code PDX31 at checkout. As always, shipping is free.

  1. I think your manicures came out awesome! I have this plate too and I am a really sucky stamper.. I did think it was easier to make decals with them but I'm just backwards lol.

    1. Actually maybe decals is the way to go. This was just difficult to get any clear image Pickup.

  2. Interesting plate! As I was reading, I was thinking to myself it could be hard to use and from the pics it definitely seems like something that needs practice.

    1. I did try googling reviews for it but since it's a new product, I couldn't find anything. Maybe there's a trick I'm missing?!

  3. I have a hard enough time with regular stamping! You did an amazing job for your first time though! I also think they'd be awesome for making decals.
