Beauty Big Bang Gold Leaf with KBShimmer Take Back Ctrl

Press Sample

Do you ever have accidental manicures that you become so obsessed with? I loooooooooove this manicure! Something between the base color, the sparkle, I love it!!

Here's the pack, which costs $4.99, which consists of 12 pods!

Here's a closer look at the gold leaf. Top is silver leaf, right is oxidized copper (so it has purple, green, and blue on in!), bottom is rose gold, and left is yellow gold. I love the combinations.

I think what I love about this polish is the base! KBShimmer Take Back Ctrl, really sets up for the gold leaf to pop! Then I added a stripe of black polish with Morgan Taylor Little Black Dress. I just used the polish brush and went down the line.

Now the fun part! I took out a fairly small piece of each color of gold leaf and ripped it up with tweezers. I wasn't going to perfect rips; in fact, the more imperfect, the more awesome the look of this! Then I added the pieces on the black stripe. HI, I LOVE THIS.

And here it is matte. I just want to cry, it's so pretty!!! How a manicure that is so simple can be so pretty, I don't know! LOVEEEE.

If you loved this package of silver and gold leaf, make sure you use Mich10 for 10% off your order! The pack of 12 pods (3 of each color) costs $4.99 (so 41 cents a pod!). You can use the gold leaf as a full nail (which would be gorgeous and decadent) or you can rip it into pieces like I did. Either way, I'm obsessed!

    1. It's just such a habit for me, but I always love it! I mean, I am wearing a shiny mani right now though haha. I have tried so many and always return to KBShimmer Oh Matte! It always remains truly matte for me vs others that are satin.

  6. The matted foils are weirdly fun. I would have never thought to matte them but it gives a unique texture. I'm really curious to see the "tarnished" looking foils. Those look like they would be great for a rock inspired mani.

  9. The matte version is off the charts! I have never tried these kind of foils yet, only the mylar ones you put on with glue.

    1. I actually had to google to see if I needed glue, but nope! It all stayed put with a coat of top coat (I used GB Glitter Glaze as it's a thicker top coat)
