Red Dog Designs eMerald Knoll with Up Verde 360

We are almost at the end of Red Dog Designs week, but no worries because I have so many more to show you that I've already worn as pedicures (including the neon sands, Besame Mucho, and many more) and I even have a few still untried. I love this brand for the mix of polish finishes and the quality.

eMerald Knoll is a one off Gina created. If you hadn't known, ehmkay nails is after my intials (MK) as it has always been a nickname of mine. Gina sent me THREE awesome green-themed MK-named customs! A green holo, a glitter topper (this one), and a holo based glitter! I still haven't worn the other two, sheesh.

First I started with two coats of Up Verde 360. It's a gorgeous green holographic polish with an amazing formula. I love holos like this. Linear but not super linear like China Glaze OMGs, if that makes sense. There's still a scattered feel to it. I then applied one easy coat of eMerald Knoll. This glitter is amazing; eMerald Knoll is basically every green glitter ever! It's so sparkly and so perfect for me. Gina knows me perfectly. There's every shape with matte and shiny glitter. Just perfect.

Red Dog Designs Palm Cove with Palm Tree Nail Art

Continuing with Red Dog Designs week, today I am featuring one of her new texture polishes part of her Neon Summer Sands Collection. Texture polishes are SO fun but I especially love sparkly ones over flat ones. The neon textures are super sparkly in person but so difficult to photograph! Two easy perfect coats.

Then on my accent, I used two coats of Zoya Neely. I didn't have my tools on me, so my palm tree is a little fat, but that's okay! I used Zoya Cheryl for the trunk and coconuts and Palm Cove as my palm tree. I top coated the accent nail and you can see just how sparkly Palm Cove is. I ordered all but the yellow from the Neon Sands Collection but I'm thinking I need them all! Enlarge the photos to see the glitter in the sand polish.

Red Dog Designs Lemon Meringue with Half Moon Lemons

Today begins the start of a week of Red Dog Designs polishes! I have so many sitting in my drafts and I think it's time you see the awesomeness that is this brand!

I have recently begun to appreciate the half moon mani...and I can't get enough of it. I like mixing it up and here I attempted half moon lemons to go with Red Dog Designs Lemon Meringue from her Berry Friends Collection.

I decided to layer one coat of Lemon Meringue over Ulta Cream of the Crop. Using Cream of the Crop, a basic white creme, and Zoya Ziv, I did some fictional lemons. They aren't realistic but they are bright and fun. I wish I could have caught the shimmer in Lemon Meringue better, but trust me, it's there and gorgeous. Make sure to enlarge the photos.

Happy Fourth of July! Quick Patriotic Nail Art

Although I've come a long way from my photographs from last year, my fireworks manicure from last year still amazes me. I didn't get a chance to start my nails until midnight last night, so I went with something simpler.

It's patriotic, blingy, and holographic. Nuff said.

Index: Two coats Enchanted Polish Stay Classy, San Diego
Middle: One coat Layla Marshmallow Twinkle, two coats Barry M Jewel Brittania, Wet N Wild The Star of the Show
Ring and thumb: Gradient of Cirque Bejeweled, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Enchanted Polish Stay Classy, San Diego, one coat Barry M  Jewel Brittania, Wet N Wild The Star of the Show.
Pinky: Two coats Cirque Polish Bejeweled

I realize Barry M is a British brand, but this polish was just so perfect for the occasion! Enlarge the pictures to see how perfect they are!

Despicable Me Minion Nail Art

I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with Despicable Me, but it's a damn cute movie and I definitely enjoyed it. So when a polish friend on FB posted her Minion nails in honor of Despicable Me 2 coming out tomorrow, I decided I needed to do a Minion mani too!

I started with a base of two coats of Layla Softtouch Limoncello. My minions shimmer, so what? Limoncello is a bit of a chameleon. Sometimes it's more yellow and sometimes more green--and since I am conflicted on the actual color of minions, this was perfect. The end of the post will have pictures to show what I mean. Using a striping brush and a small dotting tool, I simply drew the minion overalls and eyes. It was actually pretty quick art! Then pulling from the blue in the overalls, I did a quick gradient tip with Cirque Polish Ophelia.

This manicure makes me go squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I love looking at these cuties on my nails!

Without the glitter gradient. I liked it, but I wanted more OOMPH to the art.

Will you be checking out the movie tomorrow? I hope to, if not, for sure this weekend! I'll post my Fourth of July mani soon but meanwhile, if you're looking for inspiration, check out my fireworks manicure from last year HERE.

Zoya Piaf with Femme Fatale Sparkling Sands

Happy July everyone! It's super dreary in the Northeast, so let's brighten up our day with YELLOW. I only recently started liking yellow on my skintone so during the Zoya Earth Day sale I picked up Piaf. I love it! Yellow still may not look the best on me, but I really do love this color. Two easy coats.

Then continuing with my gold glitter obsession (side note: I hate gold jewelry, but LOVE gold glitter, weird), I added a stripe of Femme Fatale Sparkling Sands. This one is just.so.gorgeous. I will have to do another mani with it to showcase the sparkly, holographic goodness that makes up this polish. To make the stripe seamless, I added dots of Kiko holo taupe.

Hope I brightened your day amidst the rain! Stay tuned this week for fun nail art!
