New Year's Eve's Blingy Bomb

Let's try this again. Blogger wouldn't upload my photos last night.

Here was my festive NYE glitterbomb nails!

I used two very thin coats of China Glaze Icicle, one thin coat of China Glaze Blonde Bombshell. Then on top of that one thin coat of Wet N Wild Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night (black glitter) and finally finished it with Crowstoes Maxxed Out. Actually, the boyfriend got me my first two Crowstoes for the holidays and I have already worn both and loooooove them. I'll show you Her Goose Got Cooked later this week.

Super blingy. Super festive. I freaking love it.

Pure Ice Grunge from the Velour Collection

I wanted a quick mani before running out the door. Pure Ice Grunge from the new Velour collection was it. I just can't understand how a polish can be so amazing at under $2. I could not find this collection at the five Walmarts I went to so a kind friend picked up the ones I wanted the most. I did my mani and was out the door within ten minutes.

I then went to Sephora and added a coat of one of the SOPI Hollywood If I Could because, why not? I'm not normally a fan of bar glitter but I did love this and it is currently on clearance at Sephora (but wasn't in store) so I ended up getting it! Then while at Nordstrom, my eyes went to Deborah Lippman Boom Boom Pow and so I painted the tip with it (of course, I used the tester). I may need this one too! I took pictures on day two and well, with any velour/suede/matte, tip wear and chips happen faster.

I'll be back with my NYE mani later tonight!

Charlie Brown and Snoopy Christmas Nail Art

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! I actually went a different route for my holiday mani; in fact, there is barely any red and green in here! But this is what I am sporting today as I head to Mr. Ehmkay's to celebrate the holiday. I hope you love it as much as I do!

I quite enjoyed my Charlie Brown Halloween manicures here and here. So I felt I *needed* to do one for Christmas. What better than the cover of the Charlie Brown Christmas movie?

I started with a base of OPI I Don't Give a Rotterdam. I wanted it to evoke a dusty snowfall, just as the sun set. I then started with drawing Snoopy first  and actually worked around him to make the proportions make sense. I zoomed in on the cover, only doing the the top part of the doghouse.

This is VERY picture heavy. I hope you love this as much as I do, and I still think it evokes holiday spirit. Merry Christmas!

So what do you think? Does it look like the cover of the movie?

Santa's Coming to Town! Santa and Candy Swirl Nail Art

I'm churning these out only because tomorrow I actually want to show you what I am wearing for Christmas! All these prior designs have been over the last week.

This one...I hated. I had started the art and then was in a rush to go out and boom, that's why my Rudolph went defunct. You can see a much better Rudolph here. They are easy to do, I just messed up my angles and then quit. I attempted to make candy swirls like I did here but in Christmas colors--I found out this process also cannot be rushed, whoops.

My Santa is the star of the show. So enjoy him!

Blast from the Past: Christmas Character Nail Art

Quickie Post here! I just realized I had THREE more Christmas designs so you'll get two posts tomorrow, or maybe another later tonight!

Here is another blast from the past post which features my Christmas nails from last year. Yes it is somewhat messy but the concept is cute and if you need any last minute mani ideas, here ya go!

Christmas Glitter Layering Experiments with Red Dog Designs The Temptress

I have no idea how I feel about my manicure so....hopefully some feedback.

I started with a coat of Ulta Limelight which I would never wear alone because I presume it would take 4-5 coats to become opaque, but I wanted a light base. I then used one amazing coat of The Temptress which is STUNNING. You can absolutely get this opaque on its own, but I like undies and the way it looks at one coat. I wore it for a day like that, and then I had this idea in my head that may not have worked but people kept commenting on my nails.

I layered on one coat of Hit Polish O'Christmas Tree but I'm not sure I am feeling it, which means it may have to be purged.  Then I sponged on Zoya Rina and I loved it! But no, I couldn't stop. I dabbed on Love & Beauty multi glitter (the larger colorful hexes), and they were gorgeous! But they didn't look like what I wanted. Then I added garland with a snowman red glitter. Do you see what I was going for? Let me know in the comments.

So here is the glitter before the last two steps. While I liked the way this looked, I wasn't sure it was giving off the vibe I wanted it to.

Since people asked, I just wanted to mention removal was a breeze with the foil method. I don't use glue as a base coat because I find the polish slides off within hours. Must be my body chemistry.

My Nails All Wrapped Up

More holiday designs! And I'm hoping to squeeze in two to three more. The reason I don't post everyday is because I don't swatch. If I take the time to do nail art, I wear it for a few days!

Anywho, here is something so simple and yet so pretty! I started with a base of Color Club Campfire Red. It is the glowiest red ever. It is a one coater but I did two out of habit. I then swiped on one coat of Victorian Christmas. I actually bought this as a gift, but I loved it so much that I kept it for myself!

After it dried for a few minutes, I drew a line with bows with China Glaze Icicle. Then I went in with a Love & Beauty glitter polish, and put alternating red and green glitters. I really loved this. I sort of want to do another version of these.

Lastly, while wearing this manicure, I decided to trim my nails. They feel weird this short, but which do you prefer?

Elf the Movie Nail Art

So Elf came on the television a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure it's been on a nonstop loop. Since it was so in my face, I decided a manicure based on the movie had to happen.

My base was Essie Sag Harbor for all the nails except my index, which was Revlon Powder Puff.  Then I used a whole slew of colors to paint everything in. My most clever: Using China Glaze Snowglobe in my snowglobe! Do ask if you want to know about a particular color.

I did the art in chronological order of the movie. Leon the Snowman, Buddy the Elf, the NYC Snowglobe Buddy is given before leaving the North Pole, SANTAAAA! and finally, the Rockefeller tree.

I hope you love this as much as I did! On my right hand, I did the same base colors with a coat of OPI Pirouette My Whistle, which I posted on Instagram a few weeks back.

Lynnderella Party of a Dress

This was the only must have for me from the newest Lynnderella collection. I may pick up some more down the road, but I absolutely needed Party of a Dress right away. I couldn't decide on my base so from thumb to pinky: Color Club Ms. Socialite, Sheswai Yowza, Zoya Hope, A England Lady of the Lake, and Pure Ice Temptress!

Not sure if you can see on my thumb, but I was surprised by a star glitter! I also found diamonds. There's so much depth to this polish so here are way too many pictures.
